This year, over 300 Tsinghua SIGS students have responded to calls to stay in Shenzhen over the Spring Festival to support COVID-19 prevention and control. Despite being away from home, a series of events were organized so that they could still experience the festive atmosphere.

On February 10, Tsinghua SIGS school leaders, faculty members and staff in Shenzhen delivered new year gifts and well wishes for those staying on campus.

Executive Dean Gao Hong and CPC Committee Secretary Wu Xiaofeng greeted students warmly and reminded them to keep in touch with their families. Gao commended those staying on campus for their dedication, and wished everyone a peaceful and joyful Spring Festival.  < 2000 /p>

Students said that they hope to make use of the holiday to read more, exercise regularly, and embrace the upcoming semester with renewed energy and passion.

Baseball jackets were also presented to those staying on campus. Designed with a combination of our school colors blue or orange and Tsinghua purple, these jackets are youthful and versatile.

In many places in China, dumplings are an essential dish for the Lunar New Year as they symbolize good fortune. On February 11, a dumpling event was organized for over 100 participants on campus.

Many shared their unique methods of wrapping dumplings and introduced the tradition to international faculty members. Around the table, they shared reflections from last year and exciting plans for the Year of the Ox.

Other engaging activities were also held so that students and staff in Shenzhen would enjoy an unforgettable Spring Festival.

Wherever you are, Tsinghua SIGS wishes all happiness and prosperity in this year ahead. Happy Year of the Ox!
